Background

Welcome to the Home Page of the Student Housing Officer's Association of Australia (SHOAA). SHOAA is a national peak body of Australian Housing Officers. The majority of Housing Officers are employed by the Student Services or Student Union departments of Universities or TAFEs. SHOAA's primary focus is on assisting students to find suitable accommodation and helping them maintain that accommodation throughout their academic life. Most Housing Officers work in Student Housing Services which provide referral lists to accommodation offered by residents in the local community, hostels and Residential Colleges.

SHOAA meets every second month, where possible, on a State by State basis. Housing Officers share information and resources, as well as developing policies and undertaking campaigns to improve the accommodation options and access for students.
